Sharon & Les Engagement Session

Ok, so I'm a little late in posting Sharon & Les' engagement session(s).  We shot these just a few days before the wedding, so I was jamming on their wedding photos & only edited a few of these for their guest book.  But I'm really happy to share them with you now.  

They had a really cute display of the photos using some of the extra pages from their guest book/scrap book.  

It's a fairly simple way to make a cute display of engagement photos for use at the wedding.  Come to think of it, several of our brides have used their engagement photos at the wedding as reception decorations, table displays & favors decor.  We love seeing your creativity at work!

Yelp UNCAGED

We were invited to shoot another fantastic Yelp event and we jumped on this one because this one was at the Honolulu ZOO!  We love shooting at the zoo and we are loving these Yelp events, organized & planned by Yelp superstar, Emi H.  The food was crazy - and when Nancy & I aren't shooting, we're eating.  The Pig & the Lady (that we love from their pop-ups and farmers markets) had its vegetarian curry and wrapped sausages.  SO GOOD!  Thanks to ALL the vendors that participated this time.  There were so many I don't think I can even list them all.  But special thanks to Manuel, the director at the Honolulu Zoo, who gave us a special backstage pass to see the elephants after the zoo closed!

This event had it all- up close access to zoo animals, great food & drinks, amazing lighting for after the sun went down, good music & MC (Maleko from 101.9FM), photos (by us!), photo booth set up by Hawaii Photo Rental, live art, and since the theme was UNCAGED, everyone was invited to come in their best animal costumes.  Alaskan Airlines donated round trip tickets to the winners and there were some really creative costumes.  And for those who couldn't quite bring themselves to wearing animal print, Color Whims was back to do some amazing animal face painting.  Check out the pictures of the Geiko gecko gettin' down with a unicorn in a white suit.  Yep, these are Yelpers.

Chandelle

Chandelle had booked a mini-shoot with us a while back, but those long Feb/March rains kept postponing our shoot with her.  Finally we had a beautiful day in site.  Up we go to the top of Tantalaus and it's looking really nice.  Just us and a few elderly folks practicing their Tai Chi.  It's a bit cloudy, but the sun is shining & all is going well.  Suddenly...sprinkle..sprinkle...sprinkle...DRIP...DROP.  Chandelle was a great sport about it. Luckily we got some great shots while the sun was out and (in my opinion) some even cooler shots once it started raining!
